Now of course if you build a strong relationship with your children and they respect you they will likely follow advice that you give them. But at the end of the day they are watching you and will make decisions and act in a way that reflects how they see you act and make decisions. The "Do as I say, not as I do" model has a very low success rate, if any at all.
