As some of you are, I was reading in the Real Man book that we are going through. In Chapter 9, the author talks about Truth and how real truth is the only thing you can truly live your life by.
John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life..."
Prov 2:1-5 talks about wisdom and insight and that we must seek it as silver. It takes real work to mine silver and refine it for use.
In the same way, we should work to get truth. It will cost us! As I thought about the cost, it came to mind that it will cost us time to find truth. It will cost us to let go of previous false ideas to embrace truth. Finally, it can cost us in several ways to actually live by that truth!
Real men, seeking and living for Christ need to be lovers of truth!
This is so powerful and couldn't be more prevalent than right now in a society dedicated to protecting and projecting "self truths" rather than THE TRUTH as stated in John 14:6.
At the end of the day it can be hard to sacrifice those things you mentioned in order to gain truth but I appreciate this reminder on how important it is!
